Job Description Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a
dedicated and compassionate Mentor to join our team. The ideal
candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting
individuals, particularly adults with special needs, through
various life resource needs. This position requires a strong
commitment to fostering personal growth, providing education, and
facilitating adult life skill facilitation. The Mentor Specialist
will work closely with individuals to help them navigate their
circumstances and develop essential life skills. Duties Provide
one-on-one mentoring and support to individuals with special needs
focusing on personal development and educational growth. Facilitate
conflict management sessions to help individuals resolve disputes
and improve interpersonal relationships. Educate mentees on various
topics, including social skills, daily life skills; scheduling
medical appointments, registering for local community resources,
cooking, emotional regulation, and coping strategies. Utilize
knowledge of human development principles to assess the needs of
mentees and tailor support accordingly. Offer guidance in areas
such as life coaching support, and helping individuals understand
the resources available for daily living. Maintain accurate records
of mentoring sessions and progress reports to track development
over time. Meet with clients in their perspective residents, and
out in the local community. Collaborate with other professionals as
needed to ensure comprehensive support for mentees. Must have
reliable transportation to drive to clients home, or L2L's main
office. (No client transport required.) Experience Proven
experience working with children, youth or adults in a mentoring or
educational capacity is preferred. Strong skills in conflict
management and the ability to facilitate discussions effectively.
Background in social work or related fields is highly desirable.
Assist client in selecting realistic goals and objectives. Assess,
evaluate, implement and chart client’s progress on goals and
objectives. Experience in special education or knowledge about
resources for individuals with special needs. Excellent
communication skills, with the ability to connect with individuals
from diverse backgrounds. A passion for helping others achieve
their goals and overcome challenges. Driving and License
Requirements : Must have a good driving record and a valid
California Driver’s License. Physical Requirements : While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to
use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach
with hands and arms, regularly stands and walks for up to two hours
at a time. Frequently stoops, bends, kneels, reaches, pushes, pulls
and lifts up to 25 pounds. Must be capable of manipulating
wheelchairs, walkers and positioning non-ambulatory adult clients.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Criminal
Record Clearance : Must obtain Department of Justice/FBI
fingerprint and clean DMV driving record clearance prior to hire.
Additional Requirements : Must obtain and/or maintain First Aid/CPR

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 8-15 hrs per week
Benefits: Mileage reimbursement Paid time off Schedule: Varies.
Client and Mentor Specialist work together to create a schedule
that works for both parties. L2L is closed on Sundays Ability to
Commute: Cerritos, Torrance, Bellflower, Long Beach, Redondo Beach,
Lakewood, Harbor City, San Pedro, Norwalk, Downey, and Artesia Work
