Position Summary:
The Corporate Director of Transient Sales will be responsible for
the management, execution and continued development of the hotel's
leisure and business travel market. The Corporate Director will be
responsible for forecasting, prospecting and closing on assigned
accounts/territory to positively impact ALL PHG hotel revenues.
This role will manage the process of selling guest rooms while
delivering the hotel's experience to the leisure and business
travel market clients through consortia accounts, corporate
accounts, travel agencies, individual travel and wholesale groups
with negotiated rates. The Corporate Director of Transient Sales
shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and
external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for
exemplifying the Pacific Hospitality Culture as the Employer of

Essential Functions for the Position:
Managing current accounts, while prospecting new accounts is
required, including outside sales calls, solicitations and
presentations at the Corporate level as well at the property level.
Selectively sell travel industry and business travel in the
interest of maximizing guest rooms and food and beverage revenue.
Develop and implement sales and marketing programs and strategies
for the travel industry and corporate travel market to generate
property revenue.
Position Responsibilities:
-Execute sales activities to achieve budgeted goals and support
growth and account support for multiple properties including
Marriott, Hilton and Independent brands
-Pursue and negotiate all Transient accounts including telephone
solicitation, outside sales calls, sales trips, trade shows, site
inspections, networking, and sales entertainment
-Develop and implement all sales and marketing strategies
associated with the Consortia, Wholesale, Leisure and Business
Travel Market.
-Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and
demographic factors in order to capitalize on market opportunities
and to establish a leadership position in the market
-Develop and maintain relationships with key & target accounts
-Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including calling on
top ten accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and
receptions, and meeting with on-site contacts on a daily, weekly
and monthly basis
-Plan and participate in Sales trips and industry related meetings
as appropriate to the assigned markets/territories.
-Participate in departmental sales meetings and relevant
operational meetings.
-Assist in the annual budgeting plan
-Negotiate with clients and achieves maximum revenue/profit
potential while satisfying clients' needs
-Communicate effectively with hotel stakeholders to ensure client's
needs and expectations are satisfied
-Support and plan special sales activities, promotions and client
events
-Problem solves with other departments as needed to book business
into the hotel
-Enhance the hotel's community's image by actively participating in
associations, events, clubs and boards
-Stay ahead of hotel competition- their new developments, services
and amenities, to ensure competitive knowledge and strategy are
current
-Assume active ownership of assigned sales territory and respond to
specific market needs, initiates needed action and suggests to
sales leadership any necessary actions
-Perform all responsibilities in a timely and efficient fashion,
following established policy and projecting a favorable image of
the hotel
-Discuss, support and innovate key service and product
differentiators on an ongoing basis
-Complies with hotel standards for sales while working harmoniously
and professionally with co-workers and executive committee
-Has excellent product knowledge of all PHG properties & hotel
facilities, capacities and room dimensions as well as to have same
knowledge of competitive hotels
-Highly motivated and flexible, possessing the ability to take
initiative, to succeed under pressure and meet deadlines
-Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
-Knowledge of Sales, Reservation and Room's distribution
functions
-All other reasonable responsibilities assigned by management
The successful candidate will posses the following education,
experience and skills:
Education and experience:
-Bachelor's degree isrequired from an accredited university in
Business Administration, Marketing or Hospitality Management; a
combination of education and direct, related experience will be
considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
-7-10+ years preferred in sales and marketing in the Hospitality
industry with strong business travel and transient industry sales
experience
-Must possess salesexperience with branded and/or independent
concepts; must possess sales experience in the
luxury/boutique/select and/orfull service hotel model
-Must possess superior negotiation skills and demonstrated depth of
contract execution expertise
Additional skills:
-Strong organizational skills; must be able to execute on multiple
projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
-Possess strong analytical, financial and quantitative skills with
a high level of attention to detail
-Willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all
required tasks
-Work with integrity, confidentiality and discretion
-Possessa professional demeanorat all times
-Able to meet tight deadlines while working in a very fast paced
environment and under pressure
-Maintain harmonious working relationships with other associates by
promoting teamwork and fostering apositive working climate
-Executes and supports the operational aspects of business
booked
-Supports the company's service and relationship strategy, driving
customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each
customer experience.
-Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills with
fluency in English required
-Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a
diplomatic and tactful manner
-Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all
guests
-Must be able to travel to properties and clients with
regularity
