This is You: You will have an Electrical Design Engineering role. You will participate in the architecture Schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium preferred) and the development of BOM's for summission to the board house and prototype manufacturer. You will bring up and debug designs. Redesign as necessary and eventually hand off build packages to manufacturing. You will spport Certification testing as needed and help steer the company's future. The devices include IoT designs that include latest generation cellular modems, radios and GPS. Units will be powered bu automotive power and/or battery power including Li Ion cells or primary cells. Adaptable/Resilient ? You build client confidence, start with the customer in mind first, and ensure commitments are met Go Higher- You are not happy with the status quo, you like to push the envelope and engage in stretch projects Team Player- You are a collaborator, invite feedback from colleagues, and naturally do the right thing for the team Responsibilities: * Create test procedures to ensure Telematics services work according to specification and design. * Provide end-to-end testing and validation of connected car quality. * Test and confirm proper functionality of all supported telematics features and backend systems to confirm robust and defect-free system. * Confirm telematics service provided services are performing according to specification and make recommendations for improvement. * Understanding of concepts and practices to continually assess the risks and quality of products and releases. * Troubleshooting and resolution of device reported failures by the RMA department. * Develop innovative approaches to accommodate tight schedules and resource constraints. * Works with Device Managers and Sales Engineers to review existing test cases. * Reports, tracks and escalates anomalies discovered during prototype testing and ensures closure on the issues. Helps teams use results to drive continuous improvement upstream. * Trains and mentors local and remote team members on automation processes and best practices. * Experience with PCB layout (Altium Preferred). * Verify that the Telematics system and features meet customer expectations. * Communicate and document defects with partners and vendors to ensure integrated solutions and prevent future defects. Requirements: * 4 plus years' experience designing cellular IoT devices. * Experience in using Li Ion batteries (charging, discharging and sizing for needed performance). * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering degree required.
