**Job Description:** As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: -Working as part of a team to deliver a range of transportation projects. -Preparing transportation reports and plans based on project analyses and assessments. -Analyzing traffic data, field data collection, and study preparation to support decisions on transportation systems, policies, standards. -Researching connected vehicle, automated vehicle, Internet of Things (IoT) and other advanced ITS technologies and solutions. -Designing tasks for transportation and connected vehicle projects. -Coordinating and attend project meetings with clients, public officials, engineers, planners and transportation system users. -Supporting the team in the delivery of technical and analytical services, including plan and specification preparation, data analysis, research, and utilizing design software. -Critical thinker with an understanding of transportation and/or systems concepts required. -Open to change and new information with the ability to adapt behavior and work methods in response to changing conditions or unexpected obstacles required. -Excellent technical writing with the ability to develop work plans and document technical discussions required. **Requisition ID:** 22518BR **Business Unit:** TSU **Job Title:** Transportation Planner-Traffic/ITS **Group:** TSO **CDM Smith Employment Type:** Regular **Minimum Qualifications:** Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, urban, community or regional planning or related discipline. AICP Certification or approved certification in a related field. 7 years. Regular travel is required. **Preferred Qualifications:** -7+ years of relevant experience post Bachelor's degree. -Masters degree preferred. -P.E. -Progressive experience in traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, systems engineering, computer engineering or a similar field since B.S. -Critical thinker with an understanding of transportation and/or systems concepts required. -Open to change and new information with the ability to adapt behavior and work methods in response to changing conditions or unexpected obstacles required. -Excellent technical writing with the ability to develop work plans and document technical discussions required. -Project/task management experience. -Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD. -Experience interacting with and giving presentations to high-level public officials, and participation in recognized traffic engineering or public works committees or associations is highly desirable. **EEO Statement:** We attract the best people in the industry, supporting their efforts to learn and grow.
