Overview:Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Commisioning Engineer for office located in Irvine, CA. Electrical DivisionSince the early 1990s, Shimmick has been self-performing mechanical, electrical and plumbing scopes for civil projects. Shimmick offers MEP expertise in transit, water/wastewater, alternative energy, power generation and transmission civil work, as well as commercial building projects. This divisions ability to self-perform offers additional value to clients and enables better control of cost and schedule for projects with major MEP scopes. The MEP division serves clients which include municipalities, water districts, sanitation districts, transit agencies, private developers, DOTs, and USACE.Responsibilities:The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
• Develop system packages to complex commissioning systems.
• Work with field teams to execute the commissioning work under the guidance of a senior Engineer or Manager.
• Conduct field trouble shooting to maintain construction operation.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:
  Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.Preferred Qualifications:

  Experience in process engineering or Heavy Civil construction projects.Rail, Transit, and/or Wastewater project experienceAdditional Information:
