Our service solutions and employee professional development are vital aspects of the Westerwood Global culture.A bit about the roleThe Lab Technician / Manager supports laboratory activities, providing services in ESD, Calibration, and Laboratory safety, initiating maintenance of the Laboratories to accommodate internal and legal regulations. This position will be working five days a week on-site. Duties include:

• Solder Rework: Fine soldering down to 0201, 01005 and CSP, small batch builds, prototyping, making wire harnesses and coaxial cable assemblies, ordering rework equipment and consumables. High level of experience with soldering iron and hot air reflow a must.
• Lab organization: Ordering and organizing shelves and cupboards, components, cables, consumables and PCBA stocking, maintain log.
• Test equipment management: Calibration in accordance with company procedure, manage calibration contract and scheduling, maintenance, SW/FW updates, rentals, new equipment ordering.
• Lab ESD compliance: Bench mats, wrist straps, ESD-safe furniture etc. in accordance with company procedure, schedule professional cleaning.
• Quality: Diagnose and document build issues and liaise with boards team on corrective actions.
• Workshop: manage workshop area, ordering tools, keeping clean and tidy, oversee safety and liaison with EHS. Design and print 3D plastic articles in support of antenna and AoA experiments.
• Build and maintain anechoic test environments. Build and maintain robotic testers.
• Test support: support running tests and board bring-up activities.
• Site point of contact for CA-DTSC hazmat collection and disposal, E-waste and recycling.Preferred
  • Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D modelling CAD tool a plus.
  • Experience with 3D printers a plus
