A Sr. Electrical Design Engineer job is available with a client located in Irvine, CA. In this role you will be responsible for developing products for the latest high-tech secure surveillance and broadcast communications systems. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor"s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field and 8 or more years of relevant experience.
Sr. Electrical Engineer Job Duties:

• 
  
• 
  Altium CAD, including layout of high-layer-count high-technology boards.
  
  
• 
  High speed circuit design using advanced materials and miniaturized packaging.
  
  
• 
  Analog and power supplies, battery charging and low-power design.
  
  
• 
  Embedded processors running Linux. Linux software driver ability would be great.
  
  
• 
  Wireless broadcast, RF transmitter and receiver design, WiFi and MESH radio.
  
  
  KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Familiarity with Digital Video and Audio, including compression, MPEG, H.264, ASI and DVB-T based COFDM.
    
    
  • 
    Designing, building, testing/debugging, and producing high quality embedded products.
    
    
  • 
    Strong hands-on skills including prototyping/soldering and the use of a full range of instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers.
    
    
  • 
    Use of source control and PLM systems would be an advantage.
    
    
  • 
    Experience with camera sensors and lenses would be a bonus.
    
    
  • 
    Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and strong decision-making, organizational skills with initiative. Able to produce quality work with minimal checking or oversight.
    
    
  • 
    The candidate must be an excellent communicator, be able to multitask, and work well on collaborative designs as a key member in a small team.
