constellations.Terran Orbital is seeking a motivated and
experienced Electrical Engineer at our Irvine, CA, location. As an
Electrical Engineer, the candidate will work within a
multidisciplinary team to develop innovative spacecraft solutions
for internal and external customers.Specific tasks and
responsibilities will include:Low-level schematic design. Typical
projects involve implementing digital systems, distributed power
regulation & control circuits, and system interface hardware using
commercially available ASICs and processorsComplete methodical
schematic and PCB layout peer reviews and rigorous documentation of
results and commentsHardware requirements generation, verification,
and validationCreation of electrical block diagrams, architecture
diagrams, schematics, circuit analysis, and design
presentationsMaintenance of existing schematic designs, including
tailoring and modificationsCollaboration with software, mechanical,
and system engineers to develop optimal solutions to complex
problems, including thermal management, layout support, and harness
design and routingDevelopment of custom test interface
hardwareDevelopment of assembly procedures, test plans, and
fabrication documentationCooperative debugging, test, and
requirement verification activitiesContribute towards continuous
technology and process improvementRequirementsBS or MS in EE, CPE,
or equivalent degree7+ years of embedded hardware development
experienceAerospace-specific experience is preferredSkilled in
analog circuits, switching power supplies, and SPICE
simulationKnowledge of common data bus peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART,
USB, Ethernet)Competency with standard test equipment:
oscilloscope, power supply, multi-meter, logic analyzerAbility to
rework circuit boards with surface mount technologySystem debug
skillsSchematic capture and PCB layout (preferably Altium)Knowledge
of PCB layout best practicesMeticulous design documentation and
attention to detailProficient communication skills and ability to
provide and receive constructive criticismDesired SkillsSome coding
and debugging of embedded microcontrollers in C/C++Experience with
FPGA hardware and HDL languages (VHDL Preferred)Experience with
Xilinx FPGA toolsetSome exposure to RF system design and
