Terran Orbital Corporation is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager at our Irvine, CA location. Tyvak is a leading worldwide provider of nanosatellite and microsatellite vehicles, services, and solutions to commercial and government customers. As Logistics Manager, the candidate will lead a multi-disciplinary team in support of building, testing, and maintaining a variety of complex satellite hardware assemblies.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership of a high performing team of Supervisor(s), Inventory Control technicians, Material Handlers, and Shipping / Receiving clerks working across multiple shifts
  • Manages the daily operation of Inventory and Shipping / Receiving departments, including off-site storage, and Driver(s)
  • Aligns resources with demands on a daily basis and establishes work schedules to support; Manages overtime while meeting business and program demands
  • Manages outbound and incoming freight for DOT safety compliance and import / export compliance
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers
  • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs
  • Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria
  • Recommend optimal transport modes, routes, or frequency for internal resources
  • Drives continuous improvement to eliminate waste, mistakes, and improve product flow
  • Establish and maintain inventory accuracy processes and metrics
  • Develops and manages continuous replenishment models for consumables / floor stock to eliminate disruptions to production operations
  • Works directly with Material Planners to ensure that priorities are set and executed
  • Supports all production areas with timely delivery of kits and works with production managers / supervisors to ensure needs are met
  • Track and understand kitting / shipping errors; implement corrective actions to improve
  • Embraces a safe work environment and completes Accident Reports as required to implement corrective action to prevent future occurrences
  • Fills in where necessary to ensure smooth product flow
    • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or STEM
    • APICS CPIM desirable
    • Five (5) years of progressive experience as a front-line supervisor, project lead, or project manager with a demonstrated reputation for delivering unique, high-complexity systems
    • Three (3) years of supervisory experience of a hands-on workforce in a high reliability industry
    • Able to interface seamlessly with all levels of the organization
    • Previous experience with PCB manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, or spacecraft/spacecraft hardware manufacturing preferred
    • Familiarity with Aerospace Quality standards (ISO9000, AS9100), ESD safe electronics and space hardware handling practices
    • Competency with MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with JIRA a plus
    • Demonstrated experience with rapid development projects
    • Demonstrated teamwork and written/oral communications skills
    • Meticulous attention to detail and documentation
    • Proven ability to deliver on-time and on-budget
    • Demonstrated employee management experience and proficiency in task management to meet required deadlines
