And, together, each and every member of our aerospace team makes a difference.The objective of the Quality Assurance Technician located in Irvine, CA is to perform quality assurance and quality control function that supports the Hardware Quality Assurance team. The primary responsibilities relate to Hardware Quality Assurance tasks in conformity inspections, test setup inspections, compliance assessments in manufacturing operations, and support of the Quality Control teams in Receiving, Receiving Inspection, and Shipping InspectionsKey Responsibilities:The following duties are generally conducted on a daily basis or as the need arises.Working with teams:Collaborate with cross functional team members (Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, Warehouse, QC Inspection, etc.)Support Corrective Action evaluations and verificationsPerform containment of nonconforming or suspect products and support related investigationsRepresent the Quality Assurance department in various production floor meetings (manufacturing, warehouse, QC Inspection, etc.)Supporting the Quality Control teams:Perform duties in Receiving, Receiving Inspection, and Shipping InspectionReviews/Assessments:Utilize design drawings to evaluate First Article Inspection reports for assemblies.Inspect components, assemblies and laboratory test setups in accordance with design drawings or test procedures based on the guidelines or drawings that have been provided to them.Perform process audits/assessments of manufacturing production lines and related processes per the instructions given (Receiving, Receiving Inspection, warehouse, Shipping Inspection, Shipping)Reporting / Documentation:Revise procedures, forms, inspection instructions, and create status reportsCommunicate the status of tasks and objectives (via written or verbal means)Organize document recordsRequired Skills and Experience:Education:High School or Technical School graduateExperience4 years working in an industrial manufacturing environmentA min of 3 years working in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control departmentHas performed process and/or quality system auditsSkills:3 years of experience using of mechanical inspection tools (caliper, ruler, scales, etc)Prior experience reading two dimensional drawings to create article inspection reportPrior expertise performing process audits and assessmentsPrior experience effectively communicating technical information, both verbally and in written reports, to a variety of departments with different disciplines3 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Excel, WordPrior demonstrated attention to detailExcellent Team player with proven ability to accomplish goals through collaborationMust be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25lbs throughout the day (1/4 of the day)Must have the ability to use a variety of Quality Control inspection tools 5 hours per dayMust be able to perform repetitive motion with wrists, hands and fingers for 6 hours per day (up to - of the day)Must be able to complete any company required visionSchedule: 1st shift- Normally Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (some additional time and days may be required based on business needs).Physical Environment: Enclosed warehouse.Travel: Approximately 10% (typically traveling to the Orlando Florida facilityPreferred Skills and Experience:Member of ASHas working experience in Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics manufacturing environmentsHas worked as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) delegate or involved in an organization with FAA delegation.American Society for Quality certifications:- Certified Quality Technician- Certified Quality AuditorExperienced with Quality Assurance tools and terminologies (Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Controls, Control Plans, Containment, Material Review Board, etc)Experienced with review of requirements and evaluation of compliance (eg: reviewing specifications on a drawing and evaluating documents used to build and test the product and determine if the product complies to those specifications).Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel (macros/ pivot tables), Word, PowerPoint)This position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.
