The Campus Dean of Academics provides strategic leadership and
oversight for all academic programs (excluding vocational nursing
and surgical technology), ensuring academic excellence, curricular
alignment, faculty development, and student success. The Dean
collaborates closely with institutional leadership, reports to the
Executive Director, and maintains accountability to the Corporate
Director of Academic Operations for academic quality and
integrity.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee curriculum development and continuous academic program
assessment to ensure alignment with institutional learning outcomes
and industry standards.
- Evaluate the Learning Resource System to ensure accessibility,
relevance, and adequacy of academic support materials, recommending
enhancements as needed.
- Lead institutional efforts related to educational
effectiveness, accreditation readiness, and continuous improvement
initiatives for traditional academic programs.
- Promote faculty excellence through structured professional
development, mentorship, and regular performance evaluations.
- Conduct classroom observations, provide constructive feedback,
and collaborate with program directors to support instructional
quality.
- Monitor student academic progress, collaborating with faculty
to develop intervention strategies that support retention and
completion.
- Coordinate and participate in Program Advisory Committee
meetings, engaging industry stakeholders to inform curriculum
relevance.
- Serve as a key contributor to campus-wide planning,
institutional research, and assessment efforts.
- Facilitate onboarding, training, and mentorship for new
faculty, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and
pedagogical best practices.
- Represent academic affairs in campus meetings, committees, and
community engagement efforts that enhance educational experiences
and institutional visibility.
- Serve as a substitute instructor when needed, maintaining a
strong understanding of classroom dynamics and instructional
needs.
- Support student advising, referring to community or academic
resources when appropriate.
- Maintain academic records, input grades and attendance, and
review faculty orders to ensure academic readiness and resource
adequacy.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proven leadership in academic planning, curriculum development,
and faculty supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability
to collaborate across diverse departments and populations.
- Expertise in fostering inclusive and engaging learning
environments.
- Strategic thinking with strong organizational and
problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and learning management
systems.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards, assessment models,
and regulatory compliance in higher education.
- Commitment to student success, continuous improvement, and
academic integrity.Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in education related field or equivalent
education and work experience required. Master's degree
preferred.
- Minimum of three years' work experience in educational
administration or management of educational programs.
- Previous teaching experience in a Post-Secondary or proprietary
career college preferred.
- Experience in supervising instructors a plus.
- Experience in institutional or programmatic accreditation or
regulatory compliance is a plus.Benefits:
