Class: Career Position Summary: The Center for Evidence-Based
Corrections is housed in the Criminology, Law & Society Department
of the School of Social Ecology. The Center evaluates juvenile and
adult correctional programs, including prison rehabilitation,
parole, and reentry programs, and provides information that helps
corrections officials make policy decisions based on scientific
evidence. Under general supervision of the Director of the Center
for Evidence-Based Corrections (CEBC) in the School of Social
Ecology, support and manage the research efforts of the CEBC.
Responsibilities include providing executive level administrative
support to the Center's Director, management, and coordination of
all aspects of the financial, personnel, and program administration
of the Center. Also maintain data security, assist in research
activities, manage IRB's, and assist in the preparation, review and
editing of manuscripts. Uses professional concepts to apply
organization policies and procedures to oversee a variety of
ongoing administrative operational issues. Administers defined
operational program. Analyzes and resolves operational problems of
moderate scope. Compensation Range: Hourly: $21.98 - $33.57
Department Website: Required: Experience with and knowledge of
basic accounting principles and practices; skill of processing and
preparing accounting forms such as invoices, purchase orders,
supply requisitions, check request, and travel expense vouchers. (2
years).Proven level of excellent professionalism in providing
executive assistance, including organizing and scheduling meetings
and conferences, liaison to principal investigator and staff,
screening telephone calls and general office management. (2
years).Skill in maintaining positive and effective working
relationships with other staff members. (2 years)Bachelor's degree
in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Ability to
use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.Solid
communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively
with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.Solid
organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding
timeframes.Working knowledge of common organization-specific and
other computer application programs.Ability to use discretion and
maintain confidentiality.Demonstrated ability to work independently
and to set and adjust priorities based on assignments. Ability to
resolve complex problems independently.Strong skills in Microsoft
Word and Office Experience in managing calendars and coordinating
meetings Ability to prepare memos and e-mails with clients and
University personnel regarding budgeting and substantive issues.
Preferred: Experience and knowledge in different methods of
research.Experience in data security management. Experience in IRB
