Location: This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

Your Mission

As a Senior Character Art Outsource Supervisor, you will manage communication and provide feedback to external artists, help maintain a strong creative relationship between external and internal art teams, and generate detailed documentation, video reference, and examples of art asset production, procedures, and engine requirements to support the external vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage communication and provide feedback to artists, help maintain a strong creative relationship between external and internal art teams.
  • Generate detailed documentation, video reference, and examples of art asset production, procedures, and engine requirements to support the external vendors.
  • Own the quality control over all incoming character art assets, providing detailed feedback and approvals to the vendor in order to deliver quality assets to the development team.
  • Implement approved assets into the game engine, along with making any needed fixes to keep assets consistent and game ready.
  • Work closely with the outsource art director, art director, character art lead and production team to determine outsourcing needs.
  • Coordinate with the outsource art director and producers to schedule and track incoming assets.

    Requirements:
    • 8+ years of experience working on AAA games or equivalent education and/or work experience.
    • Experience in game art asset creation in a variety of software packages including Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop and Substance Painter.
    • Strong character art creation such as characters, creatures and weapons experience and skills a must.
    • Clear and concise communication and people skills.
    • Must be highly organized, self-driven, customer focused, and a great team player.
    • Understanding of the visual style of Blizzard games and a passion to push it to the next level.
    • Have shipped AAA PC or console title as an artist.
    • Candidate must be well organized, and process driven with strong mentorship mindset.

      Pluses
      • Experience working with outsourcing teams.
      • Experience working as environment artist or 3D generalist.
      • Experience in an art director or lead role.
      • Experience in management.
      • Fluency in a language other than English, including Chinese, German, Spanish, Italian, or Russian.

          In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
