Due to continued rapid growth and expansion of the water group in the Irvine offices, we are seeking a Water Treatment Practice Lead specializing in water treatment processes. Based in Southern CA you will lead the Water Treatment practice in California and will work collaboratively with project managers, business development leaders, and the Engineering Design Organization to win work, deliver design projects and lead and develop our technical resources and capabilities.

Technical qualities and responsibilities:

* Proven experience on municipal potable water infrastructure projects to complete preliminary and detailed design of water and desalination treatment facilities
* Perform role as design manager, senior design engineer, and/or Engineer of Record
* Review design outputs, calculations, design briefs, and technical reports for municipal infrastructure, master plans, treatment objectives and delivery, and detailed design projects in accordance with industry standards and GHD's quality systems
* Promote participation at technical conferences and provide senior guidance and review for key technical conference submissions
* Contribute towards the ongoing GHD design practice standardization across region and nationally
* Mentor and coach design project engineers

Management responsibilities:

* Lead business development activities with municipal clients in the water treatment sector
* Overall group stewardship, workload balancing, career growth, staffing, and project performance
* Elevate staff individual performance related to meeting budget, schedule, scope, and quality using technology, tools, processes, and best practices
* Develop relationships through coaching and mentoring to lead staff in the areas of health and safety, professional growth, technology, project delivery, and skill development
* Implement and foster a strong health, safety, and quality culture within the group in compliance with GHD's policies and procedures

Client service skills:

* Deliver quality technical outputs in accordance with client requirements and the project scope
* Identify new opportunities with existing and new municipal clients
* Lead business development activities through active delivery management and providing input to pursuits and proposals

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

* Civil/Chemical Engineering Degree from ABET accredited institution
* 15+ years' engineering design industry experience with solid technical knowledge and skills across the water industry, particularly a strong background in potable water treatment processes, Indirect potable water reuse, desalination and/or advanced oxidation processes.
* Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of CA
* Active in relevant professional associations.
* Project management experience

Salary range: $113,070.00 - $169,606.00
