Responsibilities
Position Summary: The primary role of the Maintenance Mechanic is
to provide high end, complex and effective maintenance support to
Manufacturing, Engineering and operations. The ability to perform
work safely and execute the maintenance program codes is paramount.
The mechanic must identify, troubleshoot and repair problems in all
areas of mechanical and electrical that occur in the PAB
Department. The mechanic must be able to troubleshoot, identify and
remediate equipment issues. The mechanic performs preventive
maintenance activities, provides on call services when required and
is responsible of accurate GMP documentation. Responsibilities:
Essential Duties
- Performs scheduled maintenance on manufacturing machines and
systems.
- Repairs the malfunction of machines, systems and auxiliary
equipment.
- Routinely checks on machinery and systems for signs of fault in
order to prevent or minimize downtime and interruptions.
- Initiates improvement on the functionality of machines and
equipment to increase its efficiency.
- For more senior positions, might act as a team leader to ensure
that the work meets agreed targets by directly overseeing team
members.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the field's policies, procedures
and practices.
- Will become the subject matter expert at higher levels of
job.
- Documents activities accordingly.
- Responsible for maintaining PAB manufacturing equipment
including assembly, filling and packaging equipment.
- Provide effective advanced trouble shooting support and
utilization of equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
- Continuously maintains state of the art proficiency in facility
and manufacturing equipment, automation and controls systems.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in the execution
of the work schedule and operational support.
- Order parts and components for jobs as needed. Assists with
development of a spare parts inventory for new and existing
equipment.
- Document repairs, adjustments, and replacement of equipment
and/ or components per cGMP and GDP standards as well as in
accordance with BBraun procedures.
- Implement improvements to improve efficiency and prevent
equipment obsolescence.
- Provide after hours on call support.
- Support validation of equipment and system IQ, OQ, and
PQ(s).
- Performs scheduled maintenance on manufacturing machines and
systems.
- Repairs the malfunction of machines, systems and auxiliary
equipment.
- Initiates improvement on the functionality of machines and
equipment to increase its efficiency. The job function listed is
not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as
assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Expertise: Knowledge & Skills
- Required to apply advanced working knowledge of technical
field/area of specialization. Exercises general application of
principles, theories and concepts, and proposes a course of action.
Performs advance shop floor competencies.
- Works under general supervision. May periodically assist in
orienting, training, assigning & checking the work of other
peers.
- May require some limited judgement in resolving problems.
- Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads,
subordinates, and peers. Occasional contact with external
contractors/vendors.
- Works under general supervision. May periodically assist in

peers.
- Advance knowledge of electrical and mechanical principals,
including general calibration practices preferred.
- Advanced ability to read and translate the information within
mechanical and electrical schematics and P&ID process diagrams
preferred.
- 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or
other regulated industry preferred. Qualifications

Required:
- High school diploma/G.E.D required, Associate's or technical
degree preferred.
- Related experience OR PBS requirements completed and pass
assessment at appropriate level.
- Regular and predictable on-site attendance
- Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is
required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and
arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The
employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. B.
