Who We AreSecond Dinner is an independent game development studio that is here to make the most fun games in the world. Not super fun games. Not SUPER DUPER fun games. We mean the MOST fun games. And for our first game, MARVEL SNAP, we're partnering with Marvel. That's right, we get to play in the Marvel Universe!!

Our Design TeamAt Second Dinner, we believe great design ideas come from everywhere and everyone, and it's our job as Game Designers to collate, refine, implement, iterate, and help bring those ideas to life. We partner with every part of the studio: art, engineering, production, data, product management, and sound, to make the most fun and engaging experiences possible for our players. The design team drives the designs of both live in-game experiences and all upcoming features and content going into the game worldwide.
Your RoleAs the Senior UX Designer, you will be directly responsible for the UX of every aspect of the game. This role partners with UI art, concept art, game design, product management, tech art, and feature engineers to create engaging and delightful experiences for our players. We need your experience with UX, mobile, or interaction design to ensure all aspects of the game feel cohesive, intuitive, and easy to use. The ideal person for this position will have world class design ability and exceptional communication skills.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee UX layouts and make UX decisions in partnership with designers, artists, engineers, and product management
  • Create awesome wireframes and prototypes that are intuitive and fun
  • Collaborate with other designers so our game systems help the game serve the UI (not the other way around)
  • Document the UX in Confluence and be an expert in the game's system design
  • Direct motion design through storyboards or prototypes for fun and intuitive UI transitions and interactions
  • Design tests and utilize data to improve our UX
  • Mentor less experienced members of the team
    What You'll Need:
    • A passion for games
    • Proven ability to craft user-centered design for video games or mobile apps
    • Expert grasp of UX design principles, including ergonomics testing, font and localization testing, screen scaling, and safe areas for different devices
    • Highly skilled in Figma, XD, or other prototyping software
    • Great communication skills and the ability to impart your vision and provide UX direction to the team
    • Ability to get people excited about your bold new ideas
    • Ability to give, receive, and implement feedback from team members and players alike
    • Ability to determine effective UX tests and measure their impact
      Nice to Have But Not Necessary:
      • Unity experience
