Responsibilities

This person will work closely with the Service R&D team, Mobile Service Programs Team, and Service Technicians to create Mobile Service Vehicles, Service Equipment and Tools, Prototypes, and low volume production runs.

* Design and fabricate special test equipment, electronic test boxes and harnesses.
* Provide feedback and suggestions to new and/or improved workshop standards, protocols, and processes
* Troubleshoot, root cause and document electronic assembly issues.
* Understand how to read electrical schematics and use manufacturers' product data sheets
* Procure necessary tools, equipment and components for prototype builds
* Balance and prioritize multiple tasks
* Build and maintain work instructions for vehicle assembly and retrofit projects
* Maintain good housekeeping and safe practices
* Use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio

Qualifications

* 5+ years Engineering Technician or hands on mechanical/electrical, or similar experience
* Associate Degree, trade school, military technical training or equivalent experience
* Exposure to technologies such as sensors, electronics, controls, pneumatics, valves, and mechanisms
* Experience using hand gauges and electronic test equipment for inspection and measurement of precision machined, electronic components, wire harnesses
* Understand wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, mechanical component drawings
* Technical ability and aptitude to learn new products quickly and adapt to variety of technologies
* Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
* Experience following and enforcing safety protocol, using proper PPE, and abiding by OSHA standards
* Experience using hand and power tools
* Familiar with prototype and fabrication shop processes
* Work in a fast-paced development environment
* Hands-on approach: Proactively identifies and fills in gaps where needed
* High voltage safety awareness
