Housing is a self-funded, large and complex campus department
consisting of 6 housing communities and 3 support units, with more
than 240 staff employees, 300-400 student employees and an annual
operating budget of $120 million. Student Housing provides housing
for approximately 9,000 undergraduates, graduate students and their
families in over 250 buildings and approximately 3.3 million sq.
ft. Currently, Student Housing houses 45% of UCI's enrolled
students (in conjunction with American Campus Communities, UCI's
3rd party housing partner) with a goal of housing 60% as part of
the campus Long Range Development Plan (LRDP). Student Housing also
provides maintenance and repair services to student residents.
Using knowledge and skills as a seasoned, experienced Student
Services professional, performs the full range of duties and
responsibilities within a Student Life specialization. Assesses
situations and determines appropriate action or referral. Works
independently under general supervision to provide information and
interpretation of complex policies, procedures and regulations.
Identifies and responds to student needs for programs, services,
and crisis intervention. Under the direction of the Associate
Director of Residence Life, the Residence Life Coordinator shares
responsibility for after hour emergency and crisis response in a
diverse community setting in managing Student Housing's COVID-19
Quarantine and Isolation (Q/I) Housing response program. The
successful candidate will assist in supporting the community
through supervising student staff, coordinating placement of
students in Q/I housing, and providing analytical support for
campus tracking of Q/I housing. This will be a visible and
important position in supporting the campus community through
COVID. Overall responsibilities include the selection, training,
supervision, and evaluation of student staff (Resident Advisors),
oversight of COVID case management, budget management, counseling
and referring students (individually and in groups), committee work
within housing and campus; and working cooperatively with other
campus agencies such as UCI COVID Response Team, UCI Police
Department (UCIPD), Counseling Center, UCI Dining, and Student
Health Services. This is a Student Housing position and will
support COVID Case Management for both Undergraduate Housing and
Graduate and Family Housing. Compensation Range: $49,000 - $60,500

Progressively responsible experience in residence life or social
work, policy analysis, student conduct, community support and/or
student services.Bachelor's degree in related area and / or
equivalent experience / training.Valid California Driver's
license.Knowledge in diversity and multicultural education. Strong
communication skills and ability to interact successfully in a
diverse setting. Ability to develop, implement and monitor budget,
and maintain accurate records of expenditures. Skills in judgment
and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of
system performance and the actions to improve performance.
Abilities in project management, problem identification and
reasoning skills. Strong knowledge of common University-specific
computer application programs and knowledge of University and
departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment
and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences. Ability to
respond in a rational and level-headed manner in a crisis or
emergency situation using effective crisis management techniques.
Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs / Student Life
specialization. Ability to recruit, select, train, supervise and
evaluate staff. Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling
techniques. Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Knowledge of student development theory to the student housing
population. Skill in counseling individual students and groups of
students of diverse backgrounds regarding personal and academic
needs; knowledge of campus resources for referrals. Preferred:
Master's degree preferred.Experience administering a student
conduct process and skills in interpreting, enforcing and
explaining to residents University Policies. Special Conditions
Required: Must be willing to work evenings, nights, and some
weekends and/or an alternative work schedule. Required to share
night and weekend duty. This position is a live-on position. Staff
will be exempt from living on with the understanding that they will
be expected to respond to campus for duty calls and emergencies.
Must be willing to respond to emergencies and crisis. Required to
return to work in the event of a natural disaster. Conditions of
