Job Summary:

Position is responsible for opening and sorting of all new mail and preparation of claims for scanning as well as providing clerical support for claims staff. Below are the duties and responsibilities:

Perform clerical duties, including fax pickup and ordering of supplies, keep track of inventory, EOB reprint, Actuarial reprints, printer maintenance

Job Responsibilities:

• Mail (incoming and distribution) for the departments, logging and distributing certified mail, handle returned mail
• 
  
• Work as point of contact for office related vendors including UPS, Mail, and Cleaning Crew
• 
  
• Daily Maintenance of breakroom, breakroom supplies and restroom supplies
• 
  
• May pick up necessary items from vendors as needed
• 
  
• Preparation of claims for scanning
• 
  
• Enter notes for correspondence through SDS
• 
  
• Process unidentified claims in "00" queue
• 
  
• Purge old scanned claims monthly
• 
  
• Provide backup support for the logging of Mexican panel claims as required
• 
  
• Serve as backup scanner and receptionist as needed

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 
  
• 2+ years of experience in administration, clerical, and data entry

Preferred Skills:

• Insurance or Healthcare background / Medical Terminology
• 
  
• Highly organized
• 
  
• Excellent clerical and time management skills
• 
  
• Computer literate with an above-average typing speed
• 
  
• Strong follow through to resolution
• 
  
• Ability to calm irate, anxious, or grieving customers
• 
  
• Self-starter with attention to detail

Position: Administrative Assistant, Medical Claims Department (Medical/Healthcare or Health Plan experience preferred)

Location: Irvine, CA (Near Bill Barber Memorial Park) Position will be onsite

Duration: Temp to Hire

Start date: ASAP

Hours Vary: Shifts from 7am-3:30 or 4pm Monday-Friday

Pay Rate: $20-$21/hour
