Technical Supervisor, Production (2nd Shift)

Job Description:

Our Technical Supervisor, Production provides front-line production leadership to our manufacturing teams and value streams, utilizing lean methodologies to track the daily activities required to deliver business results in the areas of OTD, Efficiency, Cost, Quality, Labor Utilization, and Safety. You'll champion our world-class manufacturing teams supporting current and future challenges around principles of team member participation, engagement, and accountability. You'll also develop a best-in-class operations organization by providing training, coaching, counseling, and hiring. This is a high-potential leadership position with the opportunity to lead various aspects of manufacturing operations for our Orthobiologics product line.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Train and implement KPI, KANBAN, and other LEAN methodologies
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment, as well as our company culture and values
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities for our Production team to ensure that manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and schedules
  • Work with a team of leads to monitor production output, coordinate tiered production meetings to foster engagement, communicate production goals, quickly resolve issues, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Planning to maintain healthy inventory levels for a smooth production schedule
  • Manage, supervise, and direct as necessary all the training activities for each team member, fostering creativity, cooperation, and teamwork
  • Establish and maintain a training matrix for all team members
  • Support and assist with optimization projects, R&D and engineering activities for seamless transition of new projects/products into the manufacturing environment, complete with validation and qualification requirements
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR on interviewing and hiring candidates
  • Conduct performance evaluation for direct reports and apply effective implementation of corrective action under company policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering
  • 3-4 years management experience in an FDA regulated medical device manufacturing environment
  • Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking; collecting and researching data; making good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment
  • Experience with tact time analysis and redistribute work for good line balance
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, especially with the ability to coach, mentor, and positively influence and motivate a team
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality System Regulation (QSR) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and other documentation
  • Demonstrated success working on cross-functional teams to prioritize and manage goals and initiatives amidst competing priorities
  • Strong mathematics skills and understanding of planning, purchasing, logistics, and managing a budget
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on meeting customer needs
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to write business reports and correspondence, as well as the ability to speak effectively before groups of peers, leadership, and customers
  • Critical thinker with strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve and establish solutions in a high-growth and fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
  • Certifications Continuous Improvement
  • Medical device manufacturing/assembly/packaging experience
  • Experience working in a controlled environment (preferably ISO class 5, 7 & 8 or better)
  • Oracle ERP experience
  • Experience in Orthobiologics processing
