The Ansys platform accelerates Ansys simulation ROI and comprises Ansys Minerva (SPDM), Ansys Granta Materials Intelligence, and optiSLang optimization solutions. The Senior Product Sales Manager leads collaborative sales efforts for accelerated revenue growth of the Ansys Platform solutions by overachieving their assigned sales quota and supporting overall product-line success. The Senior Product Sales Manager works as a sales specialist within a "sell with" overlay sales model.


  • Performs sales activities for new and renewal software business for an assigned geographic area or set of accounts to exceed the given product and service revenue objectives
  • Partners with Ansys Regional Sales Directors, Account Managers & Channel Partners to collaboratively develop and pro-actively execute campaigns that drive product and service revenue as part of an overall account strategy. Be the deal within the deal!
  • Effectively lead all sales process stages from developing territory/account plans, building a sales pipeline, and closing revenue for the Ansys platform solutions
  • Facilitates communication with Ansys stakeholders concerning Ansys platform sales motion, product capabilities, success stories, and winning strategies
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business for the Ansys platform
  • Creates and conducts advanced product sales presentations to match the Ansys platform solutions with identified customer needs.
  • Identifies Ansys advantages and positions Ansys's products/services as superior to competitive offerings
  • Works with team members to develop compelling value propositions, written proposals, and quotations.
  • Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, and technical services groups
  • Participates in industry shows and conventions; leads training and seminars to enhance new business opportunities
  • Provides client feedback to product development and marketing staff

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in technical, engineering, or business field
  • Years of Experience: 6+ years sales or consulting experience in selling engineering/technology applications with a proven track record of success
  • Sales Skills Proficiency: Expert
  • History of consistent over-quota achievement on a quarterly and annual basis

  • Demonstrated proficiency connecting business value from the executive to the engineer

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work independently

  • History of successfully achieving assigned quota while working from a home office

  • Minimum travel of 50%

  • Years of Experience: 7 - 9 years sales or consulting experience in selling
  • Positive, can-do attitude with the desire to grow revenue for new technologies acquired by Ansys
  • Prior sales management experience or demonstratable experience with informal leadership & team selling
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills to establish equal business stature with executives
  • Enterprise selling experience to navigate multiple levels of a customer's organization
  • Experience negotiating enterprise contracts and a basic understanding of software licensing
  • Executes sales strategies via a formal sales process such as Challenger, MEDDIC, CoM along with a commitment to the sales forecast
  • Demonstratable evidence of successfully teaming and running campaigns within an overlay sales model
  • Experience selling engineering products (CAD/CAE + HW/SW) and/or PLM
