The division comprises the offices of Enrollment Management, Financial Aid & Scholarships, University Registrar, and Undergraduate Admissions. The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is to support and achieve UCI student enrollment goals through practices consistent with the mission and values of the university. The Office seeks to identify, recruit, admit and enroll high-achieving, talented and accomplished students who reflect diverse backgrounds from throughout California, across the United States, and abroad. UCI welcomes students who will contribute to and celebrate the diversity of the campus, realize their potential to positively impact the community and world, and foster their own and the university's spirit of research and innovation. The Assistant Director, Outreach and Visitor Services is responsible for the Visitor Services function of the office, including the Campus Tours Program, the Public Information Desk, and Southern California first-year applicant outreach. This role supervises an Admissions Recruitment Specialist 1, as many as 120 student workers and administers the Visitor Services function of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Independently oversees day-to-day operations, assigns tasks, monitors performance and ensures quality. Makes recommendations on improvements to processes and systems to manager(s). Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Skill in supervising the work of others and the ability to organize and set priorities that accurately reflect team responsibilities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business software. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to understand and interpret documents and data specifications. Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. Skill in independently researching questions and making appropriate contacts for problem solving. Effective writing and editing skills. Knowledge of human resources management policies with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance. Understanding of the principles of California's Master Plan of Higher Education, with particular emphasis on the unique roles played by each segment. Preferred: Master's degree in related area. Knowledge of common University-specific computer programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures. Knowledge of and experience in conducting intersegmental relations for the purposes of outreach, advising, program and curriculum planning. Working knowledge of UC/UCI admissions requirements, policies and practices. Understanding of UCI academic policies relative to undergraduate education. Special Conditions Required: Occasional nights/weekends required. Frequent travel outside of normal business hours required. Must possess a valid CA driver's license.
