The CompanyNH Research designs and manufactures automated test equipment and instruments for testing power conversion products used in the automotive, computer, industrial, aerospace, and defense industries as well as the rapidly expanding alternative energy market. We have been in the power electronics test business for over 50 years with facilities in Irvine, California and Shenzhen, China. NH Research is committed to supplying industry-leading high-quality products with quick market response times. The ProductsTest Instruments include programmable DC electronic loads, AC sources, DC sources and Power Analyzers. Automated Test Systems include PC-controlled DC power supply testers, high-power, battery cyclers, regenerative grid emulators, regenerative AC loads and AC sources.The PositionEssential duties include installation, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and calibrating high power complex systems, as well as providing product training to customers and reps. both in-house and in the field. Requires the ability to accurately identify problems and provide efficient and effective solutions. Must be capable of repairing systems at the board and component level and completing associated written documentation. This position involves a diverse mix of products and product failures, and best suited for an individual who enjoys new challenges daily. Travel to customer sites is required. QualificationsThe following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to successfully perform this role. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities, would be acceptable, subject to any legal requirements.AS in electronics or equivalent and 3+ years related technical experience.Solid understanding of power electronics and electronic theory, both analog and digital. Understanding of high voltage high power safety.Familiarity with basic lab test equipment including oscilloscopes, power meters and DMM's.Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy to understand manner. Willingness to do heavy travel, including international, on short notice.Ability to represent the company in a positive and professional manner in all dealings with customersExperience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution- based service process. Proficient level of computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed, entrepreneurial environment. Requires strong time management and organization skills.Resourceful, with the ability to work independently. Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.The ability to lift and carry a toolbox that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
