Position Summary

SUMMARY: Researches, analyzes, designs, and tests component parts, processes, or systems to develop new and/or improve core products. Develops and recommends solutions to engineering requirements for complex or specialized projects or systems, to ensure that design objectives are met, including program scope, cost and schedule constraints. Applies engineering principles based on assigned engineering domain (e.g. mechanical; electrical; chemical, etc.). Participate in and support Design and Project Engineering activities for Aircraft airframe and engine high temperature pneumatic bleed valves and components.


Responsibilities Responsible for Aerospace Fluid Mechanical Equipment engineering projects from new product development and design, project engineering, entry into service and production support for mechanical or electromechanical components Apply knowledge and expertise in technical design, operation, and performance of Parker Fuel Valve Product Lines Use engineering fundamentals / principles (statics, dynamics, fluid flow, thermal analysis, etc.) to develop design solution(s) and solve problems Interface with customers and suppliers to develop and maintain a premiere customer business relationship Adopts and applies lean product development and standard engineering development and techniques Work assignments may include crossfunctional or project team responsibilities. Contributes and supports other teams or individuals as needed Willing and able to undertake domestic and international travel in support of business needs


Qualifications U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required Bachelor degree (BS) in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 4-6 years of related Aerospace experience Direct experience in Aerospace Fluid Mechanical Equipment and Fabrication; or related experience Detailed knowledge of engineering principles, concepts, and techniques. Applied engineering design and analysis tools (e.g. computer-aided design or modeling systems) Strong project leadership skills, with proven "hands on" experience leading a team in completion of design concepts through qualification and production Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Aerospace technical reports and drawings. Ability to present findings and information in both formal and informal meetings Ability to effectively communicate status, actions, recommendations, and other technical information with clarity and precision. Responsive to inquiries from other engineering and business teams. Well organized and a self-starter, with ability to proactively anticipate and manage the technical challenges associated with design, development, and certification of new products. Ability to work with general objectives regarding projects and team goals; applies judgment in selecting procedures and techniques that should be applied. Works collaboratively in a team environment. Strong "hands on" experience with standard manufacturing methods, including mills, lathes, welding, castings, etc.
