Every Revero is designed at our Headquarters in Irvine and created with great individual care and world-class craftsmanship at the Karma Innovation and Customization Center in Moreno Valley, CA.The Sr. Supplier Quality Tooling Engineeris responsible for supporting the Engineering and suppliers with assessing and developing suppliers based on Advanced Product Quality Development (APQP) core tools. They must have experience and a proven track record of executing the AIAG Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) deliverables. The critical function of this role will have experience with skills to support the designs across various processes and commodities. In-addition to support suppliers with the creation of tooling design & build, measurement equipment according to project requirements. This candidate must have knowledge of GD, to analyze gauges and fixturing based on the design. Relationship building is critical as we support the Purchasing group in supplier assessments, problem solving, facilitating supplier manufacturability reviews with the intent assuring the suppliers capability, cost improvements, overall value and capacity to meet Karmas requirements.

Responsibilities: Facilitate tool design review with technical analysis validating suppliers tooling quotes,optimization of tools when required. Tracking tooling quality and value and support tooling audits Good understanding of Engineering CAD Approve suppliers check fixtures, gage concepts sign-offs and approve Gage R and Gage RFunction as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues and to provide technical support. Support Design For Manufacturability Reviews and Lead Supplier Manufacturability Reviews.Experience in Quality Systems and approving supplier PPAP/APQP processes.Determining root cause of supplier manufacturing problems and implementing timely, effective, and efficient quality resolutions, capable to train suppliers on problem solving if necessary.Assess supplier manufacturing facilities and determine if supplier is capable of meeting KARMA technical, manufacturing, capacity analysis / evaluation and quality requirements. Provides a clear vision of supplier development strategy and processes for internal teams and suppliers, including warranty.Improve quality performance of suppliers by conducting workshops at supplier locations, providing technical assistance in developing a quality system, or other technical support as required.Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise.Provide to Management clear, concise reports and summaries of findings on an as specified basis.Support suppliers improve production output and productivity and eliminate bottlenecks by using demonstrated skills in Constraint Management and Throughput Optimization, with focus on Cost Reduction.Experience dealing with low volume and high complexity manufacturing environment. Lead KAIZAN workshops at suppliers for work/task simplification Facilitate DFMEA to PFMEA linkages

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Engineering. 10 years working experience in the automotive industry preferred (OEM Experience preferred).8+ years Leading APQP Projects and PPAP execution 5+ years in Supplier Development activitiies: Supplier resourcing, implement and / or lead supplier improvement programs. Proven track being profient in GD to support approving gauges and fixtures to suggest alternative measuring methods Lead and or participated in VA/VE sesson Cost reduction activitiesSix Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt and Lean Trained preferred -Minitab experience desiredUp to 90% Travel is required all year round. Candidate must be able to travel International with Valid passports for up to 12 months from the date of hire.Demonstrated thorough knowledge of probability, statistical quality control and design of experiments.Subject Matter Expert on at least of the following commodities and processes: Structure, Chassis, Interiors, Exterior, BIW, Power Train, Electrical, Infotainment; Plastic Injection Molding, Stamping, Extrusions, SMT, Castings and Forgings.Computer expertise in MS Office. plus; web-savvy.Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (IATF 16949) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), as applicableCertified Lead Auditor a plus No 3rd Parties.
