Western Digital--The next big thing indata is youAs the PrincipalFirmware Engineer, Servo Mechanical Engineering, youwill be a member of a servo development team. Working on real-time servofirmware algorithm development, testing, validation, and drive integration forWestern Digital Enterprise hard disk drive product. ---ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop HDD Servo firmware architecture in realtime C++ for new product development. Develop HDD servo firmware in the areas ofservo calibration.Servo FW feature integration and drive levelfailure analysis during development builds.Bench bring up servo functionalities on newplatforms and optimize performance.Resolve engineering issues effectively in thedevelopment and integration phase.Work proactively and cross-functionally with thecontroller FW, channel FW, and servo FW teams.REQUIRED:MS/BS EE, MS/BS CE or MS/BS CS with 2 years ofexperience in developing real-time embedded firmware.Knowledgeable about servo systems, controltheory and embedded programming.Software development background in C/C++ withdemonstrable experience in real-time environments.Knowledge of and experience in using Matlab,typical lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and firmware development/debugtools is required.Must be able to work effectively as part of amulti-site agile development teamABOUT WESTERN DIGITALThe future.
