(sm) As a Patient Care Coordinator based out of our Irvine, CA office, you'll be responsible for providing data entry support, assisting the Case Managers in meeting coordination of care needs for our Monarch Healthcare members. This includes and is not limited to entering and processing prior authorizations, verification of Health Plan eligibility and benefits, opening of clinical cases with preliminary information, attaching faxes to clinical records, tracking data by facility, generating and analyzing reports along with assisting with correspondence and communication under the direction of case managers and utilization review staff. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Processing all requests as assigned within established timeframe. * Processing prior authorization requests for providers * Data entry for referral requests into online system * Verifying benefits and eligibility * Analyzing and maintaining data for reports as required * Assisting with entry of clinical notes as needed * Efficiently navigating and utilizing computer data entry programs not limited to: Practice Connect, Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel, Right Fax, Adobe Standard for fax attachment process * Conducting Post Discharge Calls to members as assigned * Effectively communicating with internal and external providers and health plans * Actively participating in in-services, training, staff meetings, and other departmental meetings/committees consistent with Monarch HealthCare's core ideals and values * Processing letters within required turnaround time as required * Maintaining confidentiality of all member information and MHC business * Maintaining professional demeanor at all times * Other duties as assigned You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: * HS Diploma or GED * 3+ years related experience in a medical setting and/or training with an understanding of health plans and health care benefit * Knowledge of medical terminology * Computer knowledge and ability to navigate various databases, as well as working knowledge of Excel, word * Ability to multitask and prioritize * Ability to remain pleasant and calm in order to provide effective and efficient service * You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location. * Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.
