Director, Corporate and Business Development

The Director of Corporate Business Development is responsible
for driving meaningful business development deals through strategic
partnerships and advancing opportunities to assist in the creation
of a robust pipeline. The Director will work with cross-functional
teams (Preclinical, Clinical, Regulatory, Commercial, Legal,
Finance, Manufacturing, Executive Leadership) to identify, execute
and manage new partnership opportunities. Developing and
maintaining effective strategic relationships with market
stakeholders is a key function for success in this role. The
Director, Corporate Business Development is also responsible for
executing a strategic approach and plan for initiating, developing,
and closing business development deals. The company’s strategy
depends heavily on corporate and business development activities in
order to build its portfolio.
Identify new business opportunities by analyzing current and
potential markets, evaluating strengths and weaknesses of
opportunities, and forecasting projected business.
Creating financial analyses of corporate and business
development opportunities including acquisitions of other companies
Actively prospect for new business that meets the current
strategic focus as defined by Senior Leadership.
Management of due diligence related logistics both for
in-licensing and out-licensing opportunities including handling of
electronic data rooms, acquisition and distribution of key
materials to diligence teams, tracking of diligence progress,
Other duties may include helping to develop and review term
sheets and legal documentation for transactions; tracking corporate
and business development opportunities; development of internal
presentations on select opportunities.
Required Skills, Education and Experience: Candidates must have
a Bachelor’s Degree or above with relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated experience in the development of business
development strategies in oncology.
Broad and in-depth knowledge of biopharmaceutical industry
including discovery, development, regulatory and commercial
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation
Financial analysis skills including discounted cash flow/net
present value calculations
Exposure to deal processes including due diligence, data rooms,
Organizational ability to manage processes involving many
internal and external parties and documents.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Position Location and/or Territory and Travel Position can be in
Irvine, CA, or Cambridge, MA.
Position may require up to 25% travel once environment
