We are seeking a professional, experienced, and effective
Regional Vice President of Division Finance, reporting to the
Senior Vice President of Division Finance, with a proven history of
accounting and finance success to join our team. Our ideal
candidates have a passion for results and the will to put in the
time and effort to get the job done. In this role you will perform
numerous functions related to improving the financial performance
of our homebuilding operations.
Duties will include the direct supervision of finance personnel
in six divisions in our California, Washington, and Oregon markets,
with extensive travel (75%) required. This position may office out
of Irvine, Riverside, Sacramento, Bay Area, or Seattle. Focus with
division personnel will be on the following areas:
Reviews consolidated financial reporting package on a monthly
Provides monthly analysis of the financial results and
Budgeting / Forecasting
Participate with the Division President and Finance Lead in
reaching strategic goals by managing the Division’s capital
allocation, reviewing the Business Plan model and reviewing
financial returns.Also participate in the development of strategic
goals and objectives to achieve top line growth, improve
profitability and return on invested capital.
Provide analysis and review of the assumptions used in the
preparation of pro formas for future acquisitions.
Assists Division President with special projects related to
profitability, business planning and decision making.
Reviews performance against the plan and identifies improvement
opportunities and market trends.
Responsible for the accuracy of the backlog and closed homes GP
Sarbanes Oxley (Internal Audit)
Works with divisional management to identify and implement
process and control improvements.
Oversees internal controls and procedures.
Ensures compliance with corporate policies in the division.
Pricing (monthly base price and incentives review, spec pricing,
new price releases, CMA reviews).
Review of offers and acceptance of contracts (as requested by
the Division President)
Monthly review of land budgets, open commitments, land credits
and outstanding bond obligations. Ensure accuracy of lot transfer
Periodic review with the relevant operational groups of deferred
marketing costs, indirects and warranty expenditures.
Analysis and review of backlog margins.
Analysis of individual subdivision performance.
Review land package submissions (mini-term sheets, transaction
memoranda and pro formas).
Collaborates with the SVP of Division Finance, E1 team and
Division Controller on improving reporting and system
Ad hoc analysis to meet divisional and corporate needs.
Serve as the liaison between corporate departments and
Division specific reporting.
Successful candidates need to have a demonstrated track record
of positive results related to Financial Analysis, Accounting,
Sarbanes-Oxley controls, Competitive Analysis, Strategic Planning
and Business Operations. Additionally, a successful candidate needs
to demonstrate leadership and an understanding of key metrics that
drive a successful team.
Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Science degree with
emphasis in accounting and finance; a CPA and/or public accounting
(Big 4) experience; eight years of progressive accounting
experience, through the controller or VP Finance level; and a
background in homebuilding operations.
