Our dynamic and ever-evolving teams are seeking exceptional individuals who desire a flexible work environment, thrive on pushing the limits of computational possibilities, and are driven by a duty to empower those who serve our nation.We are looking for a Senior HPC Systems Administrator to support a large client-server based IT enterprise.In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and networking of UNIX and/or NT based platforms, including:
- Creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, performing system backups, and maintaining system configuration files.
- Installing and configuring hardware, operating systems, and commercial software packages.
- Developing and implementing enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration, and system health verification.
- Providing support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, email, security mechanisms, and the interoperability of UNIX and NT systems.
- Installing, configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting the administration of:
- Multi-vendor servers running various applications to support HPC IT needs
- Servers with Red Hat or SuSe, with FC SAN storage or SSDs
- Distributed computing tools like ReS, LSF, SLURM
- HPC farm systems, MPP clustered systems, Front End servers of SPDs
- IBM or HP Blade servers with FC/SAS/Network back end
- Filesystems such as XFS, GPFS, Lustre
- System testing during purchase of HPCS systems Required
Education, Experience, & Skills
- Must possess a TS/SCI clearance with appropriate polygraph
- Must work on-site 100% of the time
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, with ten (10) years of relevant experience, or five (5) years of full-time experience with a substitution of education
- Professional certifications may substitute for experience
- Experience with UNIX and/or NT installation, configuration, and networking
- Understanding of operating systems and command/utilities at the user level
- Experience developing enterprise backup/recovery strategies and system health verification
- Support for enterprise services like DNS, NFS, email, security,
and system interoperabilityAdditional experience with:
- Multi-vendor server administration, HPC systems, and storage solutions
- Distributed computing tools (ReS, LSF, SLURM)
- System testing and integration during procurementAccepted
professional certifications include RHCSA or higher, VMWare, and
IAT Level II Certification.
