Seeking an expert in NGS who is energized by sharing knowledge and
best practice. With a focus on customer experience, the candidate
will assess the performance needs of internal support staff and
customers and design, develop, and implement instructional
solutions that enhance their ability to use our leading-edge
products.Develop technical courses, contribute to on-line learning
programs, and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional
programs.Collaborate closely with internal experts to acquire
technical guidance and best practice know-how and continuously
update training curricula.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead instructor for new product training and conduct train the trainer sessions to certify regional instructors
- Represent Commercial Training on new product implementation teams and prepare global training strategy and plan
- Conduct needs analyses for target audiences that deal mainly with library preparation protocols, instrument operation, software, and troubleshooting best practices associated with Illumina's next-generation sequencing and microarray technology products
- Design and develop training materials dealing with nucleic acid sample preparation, sequencing, genotyping, advanced data analysis, and instrument set-up, operation, and maintenance
- Develop instructor-led training courses for internal and external customers that include technical presentations, demonstrations, lab exercises, technical Q&A sessions, and assessments
- Prepare for technical training courses by acquiring necessary supplies, setting-up instruments and support equipment, and coordinating prerequisite tasks with prospective participants
- Continuously update course materials to keep pace with rapidly evolving technology and products
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training activities and implement improvement measures as appropriate based on findings/feedback
- Develop and improve key company processes that support our
mission of building a world-class customer support
organizationRequirements:
- Illumina library prep experience and/or multiomics experience highly desired
- 3 years biotech/pharma experience preferred,
- Prior experience with DNA sequencing or microarray technologies,
- Experience creating presentations or instructional materials such as PowerPoint
- Strong organization skills, including ability to rapidly balance priorities in a fast-pace environment,
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a highly matrixed global organization,
- Outstanding interpersonal skills,
- Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service,
- Must be willing to travel up to 10%Education:
- PhD or M.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics,
or Genetics required + 3 years technical work and/or technical
training experience or B.S. + 5 years technical work and/or
technical training experience.The estimated base salary range for
the Job Sr Global Technical Training & Development Scientist role
based in the United States of America is: $96,500 - $144,700.
Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring
process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly.
Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including,
but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where
the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with
market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of
our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles
may receive equity as part of the compensation package. We offer a
