Job Description:

Communications Equipment Manufacturer in Orange County is looking to hire a Software Developer for their team. Candidates should be familiar with the electronics engineering field. Will need to be able to read blueprints and schematics and processor data sheets. Need to be well versed in C, C++, Java, Assembly, and Access. Duties:

? Responsible for helping document control when needed. This includes training new persons and assisting where detailed information or investigation is required.

? Responsible for ensuring the new software development department is equipped to handle future software related tasks. Identifying needed hardware, instrumentation or investigation current solutions and keeping abreast with the latest industry innovations.

? Will provide ongoing support for client's existing designs that use embedded processors such as the PIC micro controllers.

? Expected to help other departments including production when problems arise. These efforts may not necessarily be software related. Assistance may be needed in regards to server or PC related problems.

Software:

? Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.

? Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures

? Direct software programming and development of documentation.

? Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software systems design or maintenance.

? Analyze information to determine recommendation and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.

? Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specification and performance requirements, or resolve custom problems

? Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.

? Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects.

? Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.

Programming:

? Conduct trail runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct.

? Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs, using work flow chart and diagram, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.

? Perform or direct revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

? Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes.

? Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer.

? Compile and write documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program.

? Prepare detailed work flow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation, and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language.
