Sumitomo Electric Lightwave (SEL) is now focusing on the fiber optics and connectivity products for data center market which includes optical fiber and connectors, enclosures, and so on. The technical product specialist provides 3 functions. The first is performance analysis by measuring instruments and microscope, and making the report of it. The second is improvement of the product design, test production and its evaluation. The third is technical explanation to the customers of the design, performance, improvement, defect and its countermeasure of the product. It is preferable that the technical product specialist has the knowledge of optical fiber, connector and enclosure, the experience of optical performance measuring, and the middle class 3D modeling technique of mechanical design of metal or resin parts by 2D/3D CAD. The work location is our office in Irvine CA.

Education: Four Year Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Optical, Electrical or Other Technical Based Degree)

Experience: Two or more years' experience in Fiber Optic based network field desired but not required

Salary range: $80,000-$100,000 DOE plus full benefit package
