Req-21849 Principal Engineer, R&D - Advanced TechnologyThis is
an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Engineer to
join a R&D team in Edward's Advanced Technology business unit
focused on the early stage development of new therapies to help
patients suffering from heart failure.The engineer will have a
unique opportunity to engage in the development of a new therapy
from ideation to clinical feasibility. The individual will be a key
contributor to the design, development, and rigorous testing of
this therapy, and will provide engineering support focused on
research, design, prototyping, testing, data analysis and
documentation. The engineer will also have the opportunity to
engage with clinicians and key opinion leaders.Job responsibilities
may include but are not limited to:
- Owning the design and development process including: rapidly
prototyping designs, evaluating materials, troubleshooting
failures, proposing and evaluating design improvements.
- Perform scientific research and literature searches as
needed
- Develop and execute novel test methods
- Assist in the development of protocols and execution of animal
studies
- Maintaining accurate documentation of concepts, designs,
drawings, and procedures with good documentation practices.
- Interfacing with R&D Engineers and other technicians,
Manufacturing, and Quality, to ensure compliance with internal
procedures and Protocols.
- Analyze medical images to understand patient anatomy and device
interaction; create, develop, and manufacture representative
anatomical models for feasibility testing
- Coordinate and support tasks for technicians
- Mentor and provide feedback for junior level engineers
- Proactively identify issues, achieve resolution, and resolve
problems of significant complexityRequired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in in Engineering or Scientific field ,
minimum of 7 years of experience - OR -
- Master's Degree or equivalent in in Engineering or Scientific
field, minimum of 6 years of experience - OR -
- Ph.D. or equivalent in in Engineering or Scientific field ,
minimum of 5 years of experiencePreferred Skills:
- Wil have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively in a
team environment
- Will have demonstrated the ability to analyze complex technical
issues and provided practical design solutions
- Solid works or Pro-Engineering CAD skill is a plus
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to present technical material and interact
professionally with all organizational levels
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced
environment
- Must be able to work in a team environment, including frequent
inter-organizational and outside customer contactsAligning our

this position is $106,000 to $151,000 (highly experienced).The pay
for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g.,
