Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop software solutions by studying information needs; identifying and investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
  • Architect, design, develop and test key features and solutions for internal and external products.
  • Build subject matter expertise in several features and feature areas by studying documentation and code and by using the features and use the expertise to drive quality.
  • Develop test code in C# and other scripting languages for key features and product solutions.
  • Participate in reviews of architecture, design, code, and test architecture to improve the functionality, quality and testability of key features and products.
  • Adhere to, develop and enforce best practices in software development processes, software test processes and requirements and issue tracking.
  • Establish and innovate on test tools, automation strategies and frameworks for testing and quality assurance for key features and products.
  • Create end-user and coding documentation (design specifications, program flow docs).
  • Create documentation for test requirements, test cases and test automation.
  • Communicate as needed for project status with team members and assist with problem resolution.
  • Analyze test data to assure design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Coordinate and assist in solving technical problems during debug and at customer site.QUALIFICATIONS -To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Experienced software developer fluent in the .NET tech stack (C#, .NET STD, NET Core, .NET Framework) with 3-4 years of experience in developing applications in WPF and .NET Core, Libraries in .NET Standard, .NET Framework and converting legacy applications and libraries developed on .NET Framework to .NET Core and .NET Standard respectively. Possess strong debugging and troubleshooting skills especially for .NET applications.Experience with SQL, web services, Web API, LINQ and Entity Framework.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEMinimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science with six to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIESPossess demonstrated ability of developing software to interface a PC to various real-world devices (Rs232, Ethernet, DeviceNet, etc.).Must have participated in at least 3 complete software product cycles from inception to release and must have demonstrated experience and understanding of testing and testing methodologies.Good software architecture and design skills.Good customer interaction skills - able to interact with and support multiple projects and define requirements with various customers at the same time.Must be self-directed, and able to work from "verbal" specifications and information. Must understand real-time software and be familiar with multithreaded applications architectures, inter-process communications mechanisms and their specific implementation on Windows platforms.Good organizational skills, ability to solve problems, strong verbal and written communication skills. -Employee must be able to work with minimal supervision, conferring with supervisor on unusual matters. Has some latitude for unreviewed action or decision.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and managers, clients, customers, and the general public. -Work requires individual to devise own methods, to assist with methods used by others, to exercise ingenuity, to analyze situations, and apply judgment required to make decisions of an administrative and/or technical nature.PHYSICAL DEMANDS -The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
