Job Description:

Perfect Lens is searching for a Principal Software Engineer to join our software engineering department. Your day-to-day work will include reviewing system and software requirements and making architectural changes in an agile environment. You will be updating legacy modules and creating new ones as well as responding to research and hardware engineer's change requests and problem reports. You will use your expertise to optimize image processing algorithms as well as create new ones to help automate our systems. You will collaborate closely with the research department and hardware engineers to ensure changes are practical and add value to the internal and external customers. You will be updating our architecture to be ready to support domestic and international customers and to be easily maintainable. You will identify issues with the current application and processes and suggest improvements. You'll have the opportunity to share your ideas and experiences with your team members and see the direct impact of your input on the product. You will coach junior members of the team on best software development practices. -

You will support Perfect Lens goal for meeting all regulatory compliances as a member of the quality team you will help Perfect Lens meet ISO and FDA compliance. The Candidate should be well rounded and knowledgeable in matters such as; Software Development Life Cycles and Document & Design Control. Our goal is a safe and robust medical device that is built correctly the first time and meets compliance.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities;

  • Design architecture to support medical device software and integration of hardware components and GUIs
  • Develop advanced algorithms in image processing
  • Update legacy code with modern design patterns and current coding standards
  • Develop and maintain software requirements and other design documentation
  • Implement, test, debug, and deploy new versions of applications
  • Develop and set technical approach, scheduling, in-depth software development, implementation and standards
  • Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, comments and suggestions
  • Ensure that the software developed is technically sound by having the ability to deep dive into the details of the architecture and designs
  • Develop deep technical and domain understanding, and provide architectural and technical leadership, in all areas of our software development
  • Ability to provide technical and team leadership through coaching
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings to report on progress and resolve design planning and coordination issues
  • Participate in quality control activities and software development/testing processes in support of the Perfect Lens quality control system -Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, math, physics (preferred)
    • 10+ years of software engineering and technical leadership experience
    • Solid programming experience in C and C++
    • Experience in embedded systems
    • Have a creative mind and a drive to succeed.
    • Fundamental understanding of quality management systems
    • A team player with excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong leadership and organization skills.
    • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Self-sufficient and a self-starter
    • Ability to meet deadlines and keep projects on track with little supervision.
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Experience in image processing and medical device development
      • Strong organizational skills
