- Participate on new product development teams as the subject
matter expert for regulatory and standards compliance relevant for
MSA products that integrate wireless technologies
- Analyze and interpret compliance requirements from multiple
sources, with consideration for regional and carrier differences.
Ensure compliance requirements are integrated into product design
scopes through coordination, documentation, and communication with
development teams.
- Prepare technical data packages, and samples where required,
for submission and approval by third parties. Meet challenging
timelines for certification completion.
- Work directly with external parties, such as government
agencies, testing laboratories, and certification bodies to obtain
necessary registrations, certifications, and other market-entry
requirements
- Work closely with stakeholders to develop efficient and
comprehensive test strategies that incorporate a range of
compliance requirements. Conduct or support pre-compliance testing
as needed. Troubleshoot and make recommendations on product
corrections, or develop technical explanations, for any issues that
may arise throughout the certification processes.
- Review compliance impact of new and modified designs, including
review and recommendations related to engineering documentation
submitted to third parties. Maintain certification and compliance
on existing products.
- Stay up-to-date on new and changing wireless/radio compliance
regulations and standards. Actively participate in relevant
manufacturing and trade associations or other external networks as
needed
- Identify and implement continuous improvement in processes and
tools related to compliance area. Be a resource for the
organization on product compliance and standards interpretation
guidance.
- Provide support to all certification and department related
activities regardless of product group, which may include but is
not limited to third party audits, production line requirements,
and customer service
- Travel (Domestic & International) Qualifications
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Detail oriented and organized, with demonstrated analytical
problem solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to
audiences of all levels
- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to navigate/interpret ambiguity of standards and
regulations Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Expert knowledge of international telecommunications
regulations and standards, and relevant industry technical
standards Education and Experience Required:
- BSEE or relevant discipline, preferably from an ABET accredited
program.
- Experience in certifying product with FCC(CFR), ISED Canada
(RSS) and/or the EU(ETSI);
- Experience in full process of certifying wireless products for
a broad number of countries, from research of requirements to
completion of type approval Experience Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with testing protocols and equipment
relevant for certification of wireless technologies, including
troubleshooting/debugging techniques to analyze and resolve
compliance issues
- Experience with RF conducted and antenna OTA performance impact
on product certification and conformance This position is available
