- Document Preparation: Prepare, format, and proofread legal
documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
materials. Ensure accuracy, proper formatting, and adherence to
court rules and procedures.
- Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing and organizing
case files, including maintaining electronic and physical files,
tracking deadlines, and coordinating with other departments or
external parties as needed.
- Calendar Management: Maintain attorneys' calendars, schedule
appointments, court hearings, depositions, and other legal
proceedings. Remind attorneys of upcoming deadlines and
- E-Filing: File legal documents with state and federal courts
using electronic filing systems. Ensure compliance with court
requirements and monitor the progress of filings.
- Communication and Correspondence: Draft and proofread
correspondence, including letters, memos, and emails. Communicate
with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other relevant
parties in a professional and timely manner.
- Research and Investigation: Conduct legal research using online
databases and resources to gather information relevant to the case.
Summarize findings and assist attorneys in preparing legal
arguments and strategies.
- Trial Preparation: Assist with trial preparation, including
organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and preparing trial
notebooks. Attend trials and hearings to provide support to
attorneys as required.
- Billing and Timekeeping: Record attorney time and expenses
accurately and in a timely manner. Prepare and review client
invoices, ensuring compliance with billing guidelines and firm
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Litigation Secretary in a
law firm or legal environment.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and
