Job Summary: As a Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the Payroll Administrators/s in the accurate and timely completion of weekly payroll for our external employees and ensure the company stays in compliance with laws and regulations. This is an amazing opportunity for career progression!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure external employees are correctly set up in our data base and payroll software system
  • Input and audit deductions & garnishments to ensure they are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Help manage weekly reporting for our companies' Work Opportunity Tax Credit program
  • Work with Human Resources to manage external employee benefit packages
  • Work with Human Resources to complete end of year W2 preparation and distribution
  • Assist in the Management of payroll card program for all entities
  • Stay up to date on payroll/benefit laws and regulations
  • Work to solve and correct pay discrepancies in an accurate and timely manner
  • Compile internal management reports from data base and payroll system as needed
  • Resolve complex payroll issues; researches and implements resolution and procedural changes to prevent problem reoccurrence; ensures processes are documented and communicates changes to those affected
    Requirements:
    • Qualified to work in the United States of America
    • At least 18 years of age
    • Stellar communication and relationship building skills
    • Interpersonal skills
    • Analytical skills
    • Excellent numerical aptitude
    • Ability to proactively work on multiple projects at one time
      Nice To Haves, But Not Required:
      • Payroll experience
      • Experience dealing with multiple business entities in multiple states
      • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field
      • Experience with QuickBooks
      • Basic accounting and auditing experience
