The Quality Control Supervisor oversees Quality Control inspection and supervises all Quality Control support staff. The Quality Control Supervisor ensures that quality inspections are done accurately, and updates testing requirements and product specifications. To ensure quality standards are met, the Quality Control Supervisor works cooperatively with other departments, including Operations, Shipping, Production, Engineering and Customer Service. -

  • Supervise and prioritize daily activities of Quality Control Inspectors to perform receiving inspection and final release activities to support internal and external customers.
  • Ensure that all QC department employees are complying with documented procedures per GMP standards while performing all aspects of their job function.
  • Ensure all procedures reflect department practices, and review and update procedures as needed to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure QC department is operating to approved budget.
  • Oversee and ensure all quality control processes are performed per documented procedures per regulatory and GMP guidelines in a timely manner. This includes, but not limited to, the closing of DHRs, product inventory control, and data entry.
  • Provide guidance, training and disciplinary actions to subordinates. Interview and provide feedback on employee selection. -
  • Provide inspection support when required. Maintain a state of audit readiness for all quality control processes in preparation for internal and external audits. Provide technical support for product development activities. -
  • Initiate and investigate non-conforming product reports for product that does not meet specifications. Maintain quarantine locations. Conduct final inspection of finished products.
  • Maintain effective communication and appropriate working relationships with internal and external customers.Minimum Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • 5 years as a Quality Control Inspector in the medical device and or tissue banking industry
    • 2-3 years of supervisory experience
    • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), QSR, and ISO
    • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
    • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software systems
    • Formal Management or Professional Studies/Training or Certification would be an asset
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively influence others
    • Detailed oriented, with strong organizational skills
    • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
    • Must be able to communicate technical information, both verbal and written.
    • Must be able to perform detailed dimensional and cosmetic inspection techniques.Preferred Qualifications:
      • Associates degree or technical school certificate preferred
      • 5 years supervisory experience preferred
      • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to achieve established goals and objectives
      • Ability to work with, coach, and mentor direct reports
      • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects, duties, and assignments
      • Ability to adapt to fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
      • Ability to promote cooperation and teamwork among direct reports
      • Ability to analyze, troubleshoots, and resolves problems/issues as they arise
