Job Description:

The sales manager is responsiblefor effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts within the assigned market segment.Meets and exceeds revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current hotel accounts in a profitable and win-win selling approach. A manager manages accounts with travel throughout the year and negotiates rates for those accounts that travel consistently.What will I be doing?* Solicit assigned accounts to achieve or exceed budgeted room revenue and improve marketplace performance.* Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual room night and revenue goals as assigned by the market.* Make sales appointments and cold calls to prospect accounts for all direct sales segments consistently.* Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales.* Comply with the attainment of individual booking goals* Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours, site inspections, etc.* Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments, i.e., sales blitzes, etc.* Attend and participate in Daily/Weekly Sales meetings.* Grow existing relationships with assigned accounts.* Attend monthly meetings of assigned professional organizations.* Timely execution of volume account contracts, including any necessary negotiation to ensure participation of the hotel-owned account travel programs.* Meet and greet onsite contacts.* Abide by Prime Selling Time (PST).* Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market.* React to negative market trends by implementing blitzes of catering promotions.* Handle inquiries as part of the Inquiry Day Program.* Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager and Director of Sales.Job Requirements* Two years of progressive experience in hotel sales or a related field are required.* High School diploma or equivalent required.* Hilton OnQ knowledge will be an advantage.* Must be proficient with Windows operating Systems* Must be able to convey information and ideas.* Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.* Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.* Must assimilate complex information, data, etc., from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.* Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.* Must work with and understand financial information, data, and essential arithmetic functions.
