Providence St. Joseph Health System has full time, part time and per diem position openings across our Southern California --- High Desert region. We are seeking a Perioperative Services Registered Nurse (RNs). RNs are responsible for providing collaborative and comprehensive care based on patient and/or family needs, implementing and evaluating care delivery based on predicted outcomes while anticipating potential responses, providing assessments, treatment and care throughout the hospital and outlying clinics. RNs will also practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal and hospital policies as well as consistently demonstrate behaviors that model the SJHS Core Values and the hospitals mission statement. RNs work independently under limited supervision directly reporting to the Unit/Department Supervisor, Director of Assistant Vice President.
ST. JOSEPH HOSPITAL, ORANGE, CA
Located in the heart of Orange Country, St. Joseph Hospital is our largest ministry in Southern California. We are currently a 460 bed, acute care hospital with over 3,000 caregivers and 1,000 physicians on staff.
St. Joseph Hospital performs over 875 surgeries and approximately 700 endoscopic cases each month. The hybrid Operating Room allows us to perform integrated cath lab and surgical cases, providing better diagnostic and minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures.
Our Da Vinci Robotics System is used by multi-specialties and is designed to perform complex operations through incisions that are much smaller and less traumatic than those used with traditional surgical approaches.

Brainlab image guided minimally invasive treatment is used for cranial, spinal and orthopedic surgeries.
MISSION HOSPITAL, MISSION VIEJO, CA
Mission Hospital has a level II trauma OR with 9 operating rooms. The OR has a fast growing Robotic Surgery program, growing Orthopedic program that utilizes flip rooms for total joints, and is one of the only hospitals in Southern California that is doing GPS Guided reverse Total Shoulder replacements. Mission Hospital recently received a ---Zero Harm Heroes--- award for 12 months without a surgical site infection for Hysterectomies.
ST. JUDE MEDICAL CENTER, FULLERTON, CA
Our surgical teams are utilizing the next generation of minimally-invasive surgeries---shortening recoveries, reducing complications, and improving patient outcomes.
With 12 fully equipped surgical suites, we handle a wide array of procedures including Open Heart, Spine, Stoke, Neurology and Orthopedics.
ST. MARY MEDICAL CENTER, APPLE VALLEY, CA
Surgical Services is designed to meet the dynamic and complex needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients requiring surgical interventions. The department is functionally separate from other hospital units and is staffed and equipped with the necessary specialized equipment to meet the needs of the surgical patients. The hospital's surgery team performs nearly 500 procedures each month.
The five areas of service that make up the Surgical Services Department are surgery, pre-admission testing (PAT),outpatient surgery, post-anesthesia care unit (recovery room), endoscopy and central sterile supply.
With six operating suites, the types of surgery provided are:
General, Urological, Gynecological, Orthopedic, Ophthalmology, Dental, Plastic and cosmetic surgery, Vascular, Ear, nose and throat (ENT), Neuro-Surgery, Cardiac, Robotic Surgery.
There are 6 OR suites in the surgery department. The post-anesthesia care unit (recovery room) is a 12-bed unit that recovers not only post-surgical patients, but also patients from special procedures. Gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures are performed in the GI Lab. Central Sterile Supply cleans, disinfects and sterilizes instruments and equipment for surgery and all other hospital departments.
St. Joseph Hospital of Orange: Graduated of a school of Nursing or enrolled in an accelerated program leading to Bachelor---s in Nursing (BSN) or Master---s in Nursing (MSN) Degree
Mission Hospital: Associate---s Degree in Nursing (ADN), and must be enrolled in a Bachelor---s in Nursing (BSN) program at the time of hire, and must complete the Bachelor---s in Nursing (BSN) within 2 years of date of hire
St. Jude Medical Center: Bachelor---s in Nursing (BSN) Degree
St. Mary Medical Center: Associate---s Degree in Nursing (ADN)
One year of nursing experience in an acute care facility
Preferred: One or more years acute care RN experience in a Peri-Operative Services department/unit
Additional experience may be required based on ministry
Current California Registered Nurse License
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Current American Heart Association Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Additional license may be required based on ministry
