Roles & Responsibilities Prepare sterile compounded IV medications (hazardous and non-hazardous) following USP and facility standards to ensure patient safety Accurately compound chemotherapy and supportive IV therapies using sterile technique and approved closed-system devices Document medication preparation and administration thoroughly in Epic and the facility’s medication dispensing systems Perform independent checks and verification to maintain the highest standards of accuracy Collaborate closely with nursing, oncology, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy Maintain inventory control, manage Baxter/Cad cassette systems, and ensure proper storage and labeling Participate in PATT testing and quality assurance activities to support continuous safety improvements Provide education and guidance to staff and patients on IV therapies, high-alert medications, and safe handling practices Qualifications PharmD degree (required) Active Pharmacist license in California (required) Minimum 2 years of sterile compounding IV room experience, including hazardous (chemotherapy) and non-hazardous drugs Experience with Epic (charting/documentation) and medication dispensing systems (Baxter, Cad cassette) preferred BLS certification; Chemo/Hazardous Drug certification and IV certification are strongly preferred Ability to pass PATT testing and meet facility credentialing requirements Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to sterile compounding best practices First-time travelers welcome if required experience is met Education PharmD (required) Active California pharmacist license (required) Knowledge & Skills Sterile compounding and sterile technique for IV preparations Chemotherapy compounding and safe hazardous drug handling IV piggyback and IV push medication preparation Familiarity with Epic electronic health record workflows Experience with Baxter systems and Cad cassette technology Pharmacokinetic dosing concepts and therapeutic medication monitoring High-alert medication management and clinical dosing principles Inventory control, medication dispensing systems, and regulatory compliance Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental & vision coverage to keep you healthy and supported Licensure assistance and reimbursement so your credentials stay current with minimal hassle Generous travel reimbursement and housing stipend options for contract travelers Paid time off to recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance Continuing education support and professional development opportunities 401(k) retirement savings plan and life insurance options for long-term security Referral bonus program — help grow a team you love and get rewarded A collaborative, supportive team culture that values your expertise and ideas Travel Perks: Explore West Hills, CA As a contract traveler based in West Hills, you’ll enjoy easy access to the natural beauty and cultural attractions of Southern California.
