The Impact You ll Make in this Role
As an EHS Technician you will have the opportunity to tap into your
curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and
diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact
* Performing work requiring specialized knowledge higher than that
required in the normal manufacturing/processing jobs. Work under
the direction of our site EHS Supervisor to perform duties that
ensure environmental, health and safety compliance to mitigate risk
to the business. Job requires knowledge of hazardous materials,
safety data sheets, fire protection systems, industrial
ventilation, and emergency response.
Job responsibilities include:
* Control and optimizes disposal of all facility waste including
ensuring all waste shipments have proper packaging, approved waste
streams and proper labeling.
* Prepares and ensures all waste streams accuracy with proper
packaging, labeling, and shipping manifests.
* Assist with stormwater, including SWPPP, compliance by performing
tasks such as sampling, monitoring, and inspections and Spill
Prevention Controls and Countermeasures (SPCC) Program
* Assist in industrial hygiene sampling/monitoring, coordinating
emergency response team activities, and drill reports, writing and
revising of facility EHS written documentations and reports,
ventilation air samplings, monitoring facility noise levels and
makes recommendations for improvement and coordinate fit testing
and training for respirator program.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking
for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
* AS ( Associate of Science ) degree or higher (completed and
verified prior to start) from and accredited institution.
* Five (5) years of proven performance in an EHS Technician
position in a private, public, government, or military
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further
in this role include:
* Proficient in use of common software applications (e.g.,
* Proficient in math.
* Possess knowledge of chemicals used in facility and their
respective hazards. Understanding of receiving, transferring,
packing, labeling, shipping, and handling of hazardous waste;
knowledge of EHS regulations and practices, and knowledge of
organic and inorganic chemistry are desired.
* Certification/Training Recommendations and Requirements:
* OSHA 30 General Industry or Construction, HAZWOPER 24 hour
(minimum), CPR/First Aid/AED, IH monitoring and IH certified air
and noise sampler, Hazardous Waste Management Training,
Transportation Regulatory Compliance (DOT/IATA), Forklift
Relocation Is not authorized.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without
sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
