Job DescriptionThe Director of Software Engineering will manage a team of in-house engineers, nearshore and offshore teams, consultants, and third-party vendors. The role will be responsible for developing and managing strategies, budgets, department policies and procedures, deploying a SDLC framework, and support architectural design standards in support of high-quality software delivery. The role requires previous hands-on experience in software development.

• Leads the development and delivery of IT solutions across a variety of technologies including ecommerce (Hybris and Java), mobile web (React and Angular) and app development (Swift and Kotlin), in various cloud environments (AWSand GCP)
• Mature the SDLC to support Continuous integration, Continuous delivery (CI/CD) in DevOps and optimize the build process. (Jenkins and Terraform)
• Work closely with Chief Architect to design technology roadmap and create governing standards for development practices and ensure adherence to continuous improvement practices are met
• Measure and track to budget with recommendations to decrease spend, while improving efficiencies

  What You Need
  • Strong background in Agile SCRUM and Kanban methodologies and ability to mentor others in their use
  • Demonstrated strategies to optimizing the SDLC based on business operations and demands.
  • Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams and building durable teams by product or platform
  • Consistent track record of delivering high-quality software in iterative releases
  • Previous hands-on experience as a software engineer and working with Digital Product Management teams
  • Ability to collaborate within your own department and across others, driving results cross-functionally
    Minimum qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
    • 12 years of experience in Software Engineering (including applicable academic experience)
    • 7+ years of direct management experience of at least 50 on-site engineers
    • 7+ years of experience in technology leadership, leading agile teams and supporting a Product Management based organization
    • 5+ years working with nearshore/offshore partners
    • 5+ years working in a high transaction environment (ecommerce, D2C)
    • 3+ years of experience developing across a full stack, including client/server interaction, databases, and CI/CD infrastructure
    • Strong, proven experience managing a budget
