$66,000/year-$96,000/year + BonusParts Managers are responsible for
inventory management and control for businesses that use or sell
replacement parts, including car dealerships, construction
companies and service centers. They work with suppliers to source
necessary parts. - The Parts Manager serves as the head of the
parts department, which means all staff in that department report
to them. This might include parts associates and parts drivers. -
Parts Managers hire and train staff members as well as provide
day-to-day supervision and discipline. The Parts Manager also
collaborates with other departments within the dealership or
organization. Essential Duties
Provide prompt, dependable,
high-quality service to (internal & external) customers.Ensure
service department contributes an acceptable level of gross net
profit.Maximize productivity levels of parts advisors.Ensure
service personnel are alert, well trained, and available when
needed.Review work-in-progress to ensure quality and
timeliness.Occasionally assist parts advisor.Develop procedures in
conjunction with the Service Manager that ensures a smooth flow of
parts to Service Technicians during jobs.Become familiar and
efficient with all phases of the computer system required for parts
management.Ensure employees keep a clean, efficient, and orderly
department.Strong written and verbal communication
skillsMathematical skills to help manage the inventory, pricing and
estimatesProblem-solving skills to deal with parts inventory
issuesAbility to work in a fast-paced and sometimes loud
environmentLeadership skills to keep the parts department running
smoothlyProduct knowledge to ensure they identify parts correctly
and recommend the needed partsQualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and
prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)Eager to improve in a
dynamic work environmentStrong interpersonal and time management
skillsAbility to read/interpret safety and maintenance
