Role Purpose

Provide strategic guidance and build the development relationship with Imaging technology partners. Influence device design and image procedure development across all of Edwards business units. Use cardiovascular imaging expertise to support project teams associated with new product and procedure development, patient selection criteria development, and early clinical imaging training/case support for both novel and iterative devices.

Job Description

Provide strategic guidance and build the development relationship with external Imaging technology partners and key stakeholders throughout the various Edwards business units. Assess and identify the unmet imaging and procedure related needs of the various Edwards business units.

Provide expert guidance to the Edward's project and clinical team members to support the execution of new product and procedure development. Collaborate and partner with vendors on interventional fluoro and ultrasound imaging systems to develop Structural Heart procedure focused next generation software and hardware enhancements.

Manage and oversee the work of multiple labs. Develop a robust talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies of the department.

Plan and direct complex study activities with significant business impact and the accountability for successful completion of all deliverables. Establish performance metrics, including monitoring output and adjusting schedules to ensure project goals are achieved.

Coach project team members on intraprocedural echocardiographic support during bench or cadaveric studies for product and procedure testing or training activities. Provide training, guidance, development to R&D, field team, and/or HCPs on cardiac imaging procedures.

Education and experience

Bachelor's Degree In biological, Lifesciences, or Engineering or other related scientific or technical field and 12 years of previous in-hospital and/or industry clinical echocardiographic and fluoroscopy experience required

Master's Degree or equivalent In biological, Lifesciences, or Engineering or other related scientific or technical field and 10 years of work experience and of previous in-hospital and/or industry clinical echocardiographic and fluoroscopy experience required

Licenses and Certifications

RT(R)(ARRT) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) Preferred

Qualifications

  • Expert in interventional fluoro and ultrasound imaging systems.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, and concepts relevant to cardiovascular imaging.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant imaging equipment operation (e.g. 2D or 3D TTE/TEE/ICE, CT, MRI, etc.).
  • General knowledge of image analysis software is a plus (e.g. 3Mensio, TomTec, Vitrea, Circle VI, etc.).
  • Ability to measure and track performance/success of programs/initiatives
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop Imaging technology roadmaps on needs and capabilities working closely with global marketing team, PMO, finance and functional leaders from Business units to communicate needs to senior management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
  • Travel (day and overnight by car, air, train, etc.) will vary. 5-10%

    For California, the base pay range for this position is $141,000 to $200,000 (highly experienced).

    The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
