Job Description:

The Edwards Lifesciences' Corporate Development group is seeking a candidate to support the execution of a broad variety of strategic transactions including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, IP/Technology licenses, partnerships, and minority investments. A successful candidate will support the long-term growth strategy of the company through the assessment, evaluation, structuring, negotiation and completion of potential transactions.Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadingcorporate developmentprojects from start to finish, including assessing potential targets, making recommendations,structuring and negotiating the agreements, and coordinating integration efforts in partnership with Alliance Management
  • Executing corporate developmentprojects with highest criticality includingidentifying and vetting of strategic partnerships and/or acquisitions including strategic fit and financial impact
    • Synthesizing information from multiple sources to generate insights and recommendations on business development strategies and opportunities for Edwards
      • Building financial models to assess market opportunities and potential technology investments as a basis for go- no go strategic decisions
      • Preparing monthly briefing materials for executive management and the Board of Directors
      • Maintaining Edwards Corporate Development pipeline
      • Coordinating due diligence efforts including the collection and dissemination of diligence materials
      • Preparing and analyzing alternative deal structuring options
      • Coordinating the preparation of definitive agreement schedules
        • Serving in advisory role forsenior/executive managementBasic Qualifications:
          • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related field
          • Minimum of 14 years of experience previous related experience or minimum of 12 years of related experience and a Master's degree
          • Experience in Business Development, Corporate Development, investment banking, strategy consulting, venture capital or a related field
            • Experience negotiating deals within a Global / Corporate environmentPreferred Qualifications:
              • Experience working in a regulated industry
              • Experience in medical devicesand/orhealthcare along with a deep clinical/technical knowledge of structural heart disease market
                • Experience in capital markets
                • Experience in financial analysis, strategy, strategic marketing, and international / global markets
                  • Strong influencing and negotiating skillswith ininternalandexternalstakeholders
                  • Demonstratedsuccessful track record in negotiating and overseeing R&D focused,business development projects in the healthcare industry
                  • Proven successful project management leadership skills
                    • Ability to build high-trust relationships with external stakeholders including VC firms, private equity, entrepreneurs and other sources of innovation
                    • Ability to work in a matrix organization
                    • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems
                    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills includinghigh discretion/judgment in decision making
                    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectiveswhileinterfacing with all levels within an organization, including CEO and ELT, senior executives, in addressing business development
                      • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
                        • Ability to work and excel within a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
                        • Ability to develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectivenessAligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.For California, the base pay range for this position is $184,000 to $261,000 (highly experienced).The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
