  Join the Clean Energy Revolution The South East Operations Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a diverse team of Operations Engineers co-located in with system operators in the switching centers. The Operations Engineers (OE) provide real-time technical support for emergent, short term, and non-permanent system changes that impact the switching center. OEs are also grid operations subject matter experts for pilot programs, training, grid mod projects, and other long-term programs. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a team of real time operational engineers through adoption and operation of industry first technologies such as Battery Energy Storage Systems, DERMS, Microgrids, Smart Grid and Field Automation devices. This will directly support California's 2045 carbon reduction goals. This manager will work closely with various stakeholders in Grid Operations, Engineering, Distribution, Asset management, IT, and Grid Modernization, to operationalize new processes.   • Manage deadlines with compliance and goal reporting for reliability and other work streams within the group's portfolio.
  • Develop policies and procedures that guides the interconnection of renewable and distributed resources.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to individuals within their own department, the broader Operational Engineering, Grid Operations, and Advanced Technologies in the areas of system design, integration of new technology, policy interpretation and strategic positioning, developing and reviewing testimony, design standards, planning and operations.
  • Work across the enterprise to involve other SCE partners, facilitate senior level management communications, and ensure overall compliance with policy objectives around proceedings for DER interconnection (e.g., Rule 21, WDAT) and other SCE critical initiatives. Qualifications
    The essentials
    • Five or more years of combined experience with the Distribution System, Operations Engineering, Protection Engineering or supervising/leading engineering function. The preferred
      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
      • Experience with developing and conducting training programs.
      • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complicated technical issues in a succinct manner to both technical and lay audiences.
      • Experience with power system transmission or distribution analysis tools, such as PSLF, OMS, DMS, EMS, CYME, CAPE.
      • Ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, project personnel, and all levels of management enterprise-wide to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in. You should know
        • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.
