What Will Be On Your Plate?

Summary

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities for Viaggo. Key traits and skills necessary to perform this job successfully are strong leadership skills, good listening skills, applied empathy; must be self-motivated, decisive, observant, flexible, and supportive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following (other duties may be assigned)

  • Delivering memorable and exceptional customer experiences
  • Actively work the floor with an ability to anticipate opportunities to improve service, help the team, and create efficiencies in table turns
  • Manage shifts which include daily decision making, scheduling, and planning
  • Understand flavors, aromas, and characteristics of food ingredients and wines to ensure the highest standard in guest experience
  • Manage on-the-fly requests with ease and poise creating a calm and positive work environment
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning, open and honest feedback, and corrective action as needed
  • Work directly with the kitchen team to evaluate prep levels and food quality prior to each shift
  • Leading by example and being a role model for the standards and behaviors consistent with Bristol Farms core values and culture
  • Proactively hiring team members that embody the Bristol Farms profile and can grow within the organization
  • Clearly communicating team wins, priorities, best practices, and operational changes to deliver brilliant execution
  • Addressing performance issues quickly and respectfully by coaching, counseling, and managing any conflicts Supervisory Responsibilities

    The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Viaggo. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

    Qualifications

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:
    • Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time.
    • Must be able to bend and lift to 50 lbs.
    • Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.
    • Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
    • Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Education and/or Experience

      As this is an hourly position, the minimum education requirement includes:
      • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
      • Ability to remain calm under pressure and fast-paced environment.
      • Leadership Skills: Assistant Restaurant Managers must be leaders in the front of house and back of house, rallying their team during busy shifts, resolving conflicts and getting the job done.
      • Reliable transportation and ability to arrive to work on time and maintain a positive attendance record.
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
      • Professional communication, good organization, and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
      • ServeSafe Certification maintained in good standing. Ensures staff has current Food Handlers Cards. Language Skills

        Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the public.

        Mathematical Skills

        Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, and volume.

        Reasoning Ability

        Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
